Home Forums > Parallels Desktop for Mac > Linux Guest OS Discussion > Installing Beini (Tiny Core Linux)? Discussion in ' Linux Guest OS Discussion ' started by Dishing Tech, Jan 2, 2012. Install app on tiny core. Mariadb is a drop-in replacement for MySQL. ClamAV isn't in the TC repository, so isn't currently available. The Apt-get and YUM package managers are for entirely different distributions and therefore not usable with TC. The TC command line app browser (tce-ab) can install mariadb in on-demand mode, or mount mode. I have download Tiny Core Linux from the official site. I searched on the official site, but could not find a solution for my actual problem. How can I make a bootable USB stick and how can I install this Linux distribution? My Laptop configurations are RAM: 2 GB, HDD: 256 GB, DVD-RW, USB-slot.

Instructions used to configure

Welcome to the Tiny Core Linux Wiki at tinycorelinux.net! This method may be used to install Tinycore on a computer hard drive. Select Tiny Core. Installing Beini (Tiny Core Linux) Success I managed to get this installed using the Other Linux 2.6 option, boots, but with errors. It also took forever to shut down. However, when I try to enable my USB wifi receiver (Ralink RT3070) in the list it disappears (no tick or anything). I'm looking to run a linux ISO from within windows 7, say Tiny Core Linux, since I'm new to Linux and I'm looking to learn it from within a familiar environment. I have tried StartLinux, and extracted its contents in a folder with the ISO file. It started fine but, after a while, I recieved a blue screen and the computer rebooted.

Set these environment variables before starting configure script:

Additional configure options:

  • --with-x
  • --without-pam
  • --without-gtkmm
  • --without-procps
  • --without-dnet
  • --without-icu

Look into build-and-install.sh for details.
