I've experienced a relatively trivial problem with my GWT installationwhich took a little time to resolve, so I thought I'd post thesolution here in case someone experiences the same problem. I'm verynew to Java and GWT so if there are any experts who can correct or addinformation out there please do.

Basically the GWT development tool kit is currently 32bit only (as of1.5 RC1), and I don't know of anyone who's made a 64 bit version ofthe tools. So if like me you have installed the 64 bit version of theJava JDK, you'll find that it's incompatible with the 32bit dll'sprovided.
The solution is to uninstall the JDK (I uninstalled all of Java,including the runtime), and re-install the 32 bit version. At the timeof writing this is done by going to:
and choosing the Windows OS (not the Windows x64 OS).
You'll then need to repair the paths for your development environmentif these have changed, as the JDK should now be in the “Program Files(x86)” directory rather than the “Program Files” directory. ForNetBeans development I found that the change was picked up (I actuallyhad JDK 6 installed before) by the IDE, but not by the Glassfishinstallation. To alter the Glassfish configuration edit the configasenv.bat file (default location on a 64 bit system is “Program Files(x86)glassfish-v2ur2configasenv.bat”) and change the line for “setAS_JDK_HOME” to the correct directory, which is probably:

Note that if you run Vista you'll need admin rights and you'll need torun your editor as administrator before you can change this file.
If you want the 64bit JDK then you can probably set up yourdevelopment environment paths so you can co-exist with this.
Hope this helps speed up the fix for anyone experiencing the sameproblem in future.

Though my machine had an Intel core i3 processor(64 bits) the error says:

I had the same issue.
Solved it by installing a 32 bit java, then re-installing the WTK, During installation it asks you witch JDK to use, then just point to the 32 bit java.
64 Bit 32 Bit
Just install 32-bit JDK and everything will work. General rule is simple: 32 bit applications will use 32 bit JDK, 64-bit will use 64 bit JDK. Since WTK is 32 bit application - it would need 32 bit JDK

You have to change to jdk of 32 bits, then you have to edit the file: '$WTK_HOMEbinemulator.vm' and change the jdk in the first line:
